STATEMENT: SENATE MOVES TO LOWER COSTS FOR FAMILIES BY RESTARTING RECONCILIATION PROCESS

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Invest In America Action’s senior advisor praised the Senate for taking the first step forward with a new reconciliation package that will lower costs for millions of Americans. According to NBC News, the 190-page text was submitted to the Senate parliamentarian to ensure it complies with the reconciliation process.

Invest in America senior adviser Zac Petkanas issued the following statement:

“This new reconciliation language is a fantastic first step to lowering costs for families.

“With rising costs due to the pandemic and Russia’s war on Ukraine, it’s essential that we act now to make the critical investments needed by Americans sitting around their kitchen table trying to make ends meet. That begins with lowering prescription drug prices, energy costs, and ensuring the wealthy are paying their fair share.”
