STATEMENT: WHITE HOUSE BUDGET CUTS COSTS FOR & INVESTS IN WORKING FAMILIES

The White House’s Proposed Budget Would Make Billionaires & Corporations Pay Their Fair Share

The White House released President Biden’s proposed FY 2023 budget today, which includes smart, targeted investments in cutting costs for working families. The budget proposal includes reforms to ensure that billionaires and corporations pay their fair share in taxes.

According to a factsheet from the Office of Management and Budget, some of the budget’s proposals include:

  • Historic investments in clean energy, infrastructure, and innovation

  • Strengthening America’s supply chains through domestic manufacturing

  • Historic investments in K-12 schools and education beyond high school

  • Increasing affordable housing supply

  • Expanding access to apprenticeships and workforce development for high quality jobs

  • Fostering competitive markets and addressing corporate concentration

Invest in America senior adviser Zac Petkanas issued the following statement:

“President Biden has always said that a budget is a clear statement of values. The new White House budget proposal would cut costs for millions of Americans and make key investments in our future, including strengthening domestic manufacturing, increasing affordable housing supply, expanding worker training programs, and much more.

“While we have made tremendous progress since the depths of the pandemic, it is critical that Congress build on the success of the Biden Agenda and pass this budget into law.”
