STATEMENT: PRESIDENT BIDEN HIGHLIGHTS BIPARTISAN INFRASTRUCTURE LAW, URGES BUILD BACK BETTER ACT IN PITTSBURGH

WASHINGTON, DC — President Joe Biden traveled to Pittsburgh today to highlight the success of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, a once-in-a-generation infrastructure package which is creating millions of jobs and contributed to the recent announcement that the U.S. economy grew at the fastest pace in 38 years.

Under President Biden, the U.S. economy registered the highest job growth numbers since records began, with 6.4 million new jobs, including 367,000 manufacturing jobs.

President Biden also urged elected leaders in Congress to continue this strong economic success by passing the Build Back Better Act, which would lower costs for working Americans and their families and ensure America remains competitive and resilient into the 21st century. According to recent polls, 65 percent of voters support Build Back Better, including 64 percent of independents.

Invest in America senior advisor Zac Petkanas issued the following statement:

“A year into his presidency, President Biden has led a historic economic recovery and passed a once-in-a-generation investment to rebuild America’s crumbling infrastructure. But, as the president said, now is not the time to slow down.

“President Biden understands that rising costs necessitate a bold investment in clean energy, education, child care, health care, and much more. The Build Back Better Act will lower costs for families and create millions of good-paying jobs. The bill and its provisions remain popular and will ensure America remains the center of global innovation and 21st century job growth.”
