STATEMENT: $1 BILLION INVESTMENT IN GREAT LAKES SHOWS THAT BIDEN’S INFRASTRUCTURE LAW IS REBUILDING AMERICA
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is Revitalizing the Country and Creating Good-Paying Jobs
LORAIN, OHIO — President Joe Biden gave remarks today in Ohio, highlighting his administration’s $1 billion investment to clean up and restore the Great Lakes and the region’s most environmentally damaged sites.
The project is funded by President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), which is boosting the economy and improving life for Americans by rebuilding roads and bridges, removing lead pipes, upgrading ports and airports, and undertaking other initiatives. Along with the American Rescue Plan, the BIL is fueling an economic boom that during the past year delivered record job creation and the lowest level of unemployment in 52 years.
Invest in America senior advisor Zac Petkanas issued the following statement:
“President Biden is delivering on a promise that Washington has been talking about for decades: investing in American workers and rebuilding the country’s crumbling infrastructure. The investments in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law are creating millions of good-paying jobs, boosting the economy, and making America more competitive for the 21st century.
“After a historic economic recovery in 2021 thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the American Rescue Plan, it’s clear that public investments are revitalizing America. We need to continue to invest in American workers and families to build on the historic progress of 2021. That means Congress needs to prioritize making more investments to lower costs for middle-class Americans and make sure that all communities share in our economy’s bright future.”
