NEW: INVEST IN AMERICA ACTION RELEASES ATTACK AD AGAINST JOE BIDEN…
… That Senator Marsha Blackburn Will Love
[Invest in America]
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Inspired by Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), who so bravely spoke truth to power when she called out President Biden for proposing to invest in… elder care, Invest in America Action released an attack ad today against Joe Biden’s American Jobs Plan that only the senator from Tennessee could love.

“Republicans and their allies have been desperately trying to attack the American Rescue Plan and American Jobs Plan by highlighting what’s in them like funding to boost elder care, expand rural broadband, rebuild manufacturing in the United States, and invest in a clean energy future,” said Zac Petkanas, senior advisor for Invest in America Action. “Polling shows they haven’t been very successful yet at diminishing their popularity. So we thought we’d give them a hand with an attack ad they’re sure to love!”
Here’s the truth:
Americans need major public investments to address the problems exacerbated by the pandemic.
- The U.S. labor market is still down more than 8 million jobs from pre-pandemic levels, and women’s participation in the labor force is at its lowest since 1988.
- According to the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the United States faces a $2.59 trillion shortfall in infrastructure investment and $5.9 trillion in infrastructure needs, including rebuilding and repairing roads, bridges, schools, and protecting access to clean water.
- ASCE predicts that failure to address the nation’s crumbling infrastructure could cost the United States $10 trillion in GDP, more than $23 trillion in total output, 3 million jobs, and more than $3,300 in a family’s annual disposable income.
A robust public investment like the American Jobs Plan will boost the economy by creating millions of jobs and increasing productivity.
