NEW DIGITAL AD CAMPAIGN: HOUSE MUST MAKE GOOD ON PROMISE TO PASS BUILD BACK BETTER ACT THIS WEEK
Invest in America Action Launches Five-Figure Ad Campaign Urging Holdouts in Congress to Uphold Their Pledge & Pass the Build Back Better Act This Week
POLLING: 61% of Voters — Including 54% of Independents — Support Passing the Build Back Better Act.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Invest in America Action launched a new ad campaign, “Now’s the Time,” urging the five holdout Congressional representatives who pledged to vote for the Build Back Better Act this week to follow through and pass the bill, which will lower costs, create millions of jobs, and cut taxes for middle-class families. The campaign will feature static ads that will be seen on social media platforms in both DC and in the local districts of those five representatives.
“Now more than ever, middle-class Americans are counting on Congress to pass the Build Back Better Act, which will lower costs and cut taxes for their families and communities,” said Zac Petkanas, senior advisor for Invest in America Action. “Congress cannot delay any longer — now is the time to advance this bill through the House, just as the five holdout Democrats pledged to do, and finally deliver on these critical investments in hard-working Americans and their families.”
The investments in President Biden’s full Build Back Better agenda will lower costs, create jobs, and lower taxes for working families.
The Build Back Better agenda will lower costs for working people:
It will lower prescription drug costs for Americans by letting Medicare negotiate drug prices, so consumers are no longer at the whim of pharmaceutical companies.
It will lower child care costs — which cost parents $30-35 billion in income before the pandemic. Access to affordable child care could increase the lifetime earnings for women with children by nearly $100,000.
It will lower health care costs and premiums for those buying coverage through the ACA by extending the American Rescue Plan’s cost savings; adding dental, vision, and hearing coverage to Medicare; and closing the Medicaid gap for low-income Americans.
It will lower education costs by making universal preschool a reality.
The Build Back Better agenda will create millions of jobs:
Along with the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, the Build Back Better Agenda will add, on average, nearly 2 million jobs per year over the course of the decade, while accelerating America’s path to full employment and increasing labor force participation.
The Build Back Better agenda will lower taxes for middle class families:
It will expand the Child Tax Credit, lowering taxes for middle class families by providing 39 million households and nearly 90% of children in the U.S. a major tax cut and cutting the child poverty rate in half.
