BIDEN ADMINISTRATION ANNOUNCES MULTIPLE ‘FLY FORMULA’ MISSIONS TO COMBAT BABY FORMULA SHORTAGE

Biden Administration Has Secured Millions of Bottles of Formula for U.S. Families Through Military Airlifts

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Biden announced yesterday a trio of Operation Fly Formula missions to further ease the national baby formula shortage. The eighth, ninth, and tenth Fly Formula missions will transport 110,000 pounds of formula to Fort Worth; 320,000 pounds of formula to Los Angeles and Philadelphia; and another 1 million pounds of formula to Fort Worth.

The airlift missions are one of several swift actions the administration has taken to ease the national baby formula shortage. President Biden also invoked the Defense Production Act last month to increase production and his administration continues to use the full power of the federal government to ensure families get safe infant formula for their children.

Invest in America’s senior adviser Zac Petkanas issued the following statement:

“These three missions demonstrate just how aggressively the Biden administration is acting to address the formula shortage. Together, they’ll bring nearly 1.5 million pounds of baby formula to U.S. families. The president is bringing the full power of his office to ease the shortage and that is precisely what government resources – including military planes – should be used for.

“It’s hard to find a sharper contrast than the president’s actions versus the 192 House Republicans who voted against a bill that would support the Food & Drug Administration’s efforts to address the shortage.”
